Members mid-class on the Lodestar floor, two of them partway up the climbing ropes

Group Training

An hour with a coach who watches every rep: warm-up, skill work, the day’s workout, cooldown. The weight and the movements are set to what you can do today, week one or year six.

What to expect

One hour, four parts

Every class runs about an hour and follows the same shape. New this week or five years in, the hour looks like this.

  1. Warm-up

A few minutes moving and raising your heart rate, so your body is ready for the work.

  2. Skill or strength

Your coach walks the room through a lift or movement, correcting form one person at a time.

  3. The day’s workout

The main event, scaled up or down for exactly where you are, coached start to finish.

  4. Cool-down

A few minutes to stretch, breathe, and come back down before you head out.

Who it’s for

Built for the nervous first-timer

  • People who don’t think of themselves as gym people yet. If you’ve never done a class like this, you are exactly who our coaches are used to working with.
  • People who would rather show up out of shape and consistent than in shape and afraid to come back. We’d rather have you that way too.
  • People who already train and want a planned, coached hour. A first-timer and a five-year member run the same class side by side, each at the right version.

How to start

A No Sweat Intro first: twenty minutes with David, sitting down, in street clothes. You talk through your goals and leave knowing exactly which class to walk into.
